If you've already read Olivia's story, I made some additions... so you might want to read it again!
BTW, another wonderful thing that happened as a result of choosing a midwife has been a "change of life" for us. Slowly, we have become much more concerned about our food choices & health choices which has resulted in better over all health. We no longer accept things blindly.
We are much more concerned about treating our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. By NO means are we perfectly "pure." We still eat processed foods & sugar... sometimes, but we do try to eat a more whole foods diet. Our three most recent "adventures" have involved milling our own grains for bread, etc. (actually we buy the grain & a friend mills it for us since we don't have a mill yet), juicing fresh fruit, and just today we got some raw cow's milk. We are hoping that the cow's milk will be something we can all tolerate. The health benefits are supposed to be remarkable!

Hey, Melinda! Just catching up on your updates and new blog here.
ReplyDeleteI'm always glad to know a friend that shares many of my same convictions about feeding our family with choices that would benefit the health, immunity and vibrance that God has given each of us.
In the last couple of months, we've moved dramatically away from meat (completely away from beef and pork), dairy (with the exception of cheddar cheese and mozzerella cheese about 1 time each per week in a meal), and sugar (oooh, the hardest one!!)
I've studied and known so much of this for so many years, but let waaay too much of the world and those around me influence the choices that went into my shopping cart. We are happily reaping wonderful benefits of eating whole foods as God designed in His amazing creation, and everyone is transitioning so well!
I always thought we ate pretty healthy, but as we've committed to day after day, grocery store trip after another, making choices that only contribute to the health of our bodies...it's been an even more wonderful thing.
Thank you for being an inspiration and encouragement!
